The following may become full members of APEI:

  • Individuals: Early childhood educators and other professionals working in the field of early childhood education.
  • Legal entities: Educational, teaching, or other similar institutions that operate in the field of early childhood education.
  • Students in teacher preparation programs – Students in teacher preparation programs for any course related to early childhood education.

Members are subject to a one-year (four-quarter) commitment period.

Benefits for Individual Members

  • The “New Members” package, offered upon signing up as a new member, includes a membership card, a pen, a notebook, and books
  • They receive all magazines published by APEI free of charge:“Cadernos de Educação de Infância,”a 52-page, full-color publication that comes out every four months; and the magazine“Infância na Europa Hoje,”a 36-page, full-color publication that comes out once a year.
  • Members receive a 40% discount on all non-journal publications (books)
  • For continuing education courses, members receive a 60% discount and have priority admission
  • The Thematic Sessions are free for members
  • Members receive a 50% discount on seminars
  • Members also benefit from all the discounts provided for in the agreements with partner organizations (health insurance, hotels, etc.)

  • All the benefits of individual members
  • For continuing education courses and seminars, institutional members may register, at the member rate and without any limit, as many employees from their institution as they deem appropriate

  • 50% reduction in the membership fee (with biannual payment) 
    • All new registrations, cancellations, or other changes that a member makes to their account (such as a change of address) must be reported to associados@apei.pt
